This song first appeared in the 1955 prison-farm movie "Unchained," which starred NFL football star Elroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch. It charted three other times that year: by Lex Baxter (#1), by Al Hibbler (#3) and by June Valli (#29). The Righteous Brothers reached #4 with their 1965 version, which reached #13 in re-release in 1990 after being featured in the movie "Ghost." Hibbler, by the way, died in May 2001, the same week as Perry Como.
